I am currently testing the chat system upon install using sql 2005 express edition, .net 2 (I also tried 1). I received the following error in both cases

Line 69: 		if(CuteSoft.Chat.ChatWebUtility.CurrentIdentityIsAdministrator)
Line 70: 			temp += "<a Class=\"Big\" href='CuteSoft_Client/CuteChat/Admin'>Chat Admin</a>";

This web.config file looks good to me.

Can you set up FTP access to your server and send it to me through PM?

I cannot setup ftp for security reasons but if you have any advice on the given web.config or any suggested changes it would be great to know thanks.

I don't have any good idea. That's why I want to check your site.

The only suggestion I have now is:

Please download the chat software again:

http://cutesoft.net/downloads/default.aspx

And replace all the files include DLL then try again.

I am not sure of your system's configuration but I think I know the problem.

I was testing the CuteChat standalone with SQL Server 2005 Express and used essentially the same Web.config file as yours, thus getting an error on the same line of code. When trying to fix the problem, I realized that the connection string is wrong as the server I am connecting to isn't "(local)\portal". On my machine the SQL server's name is "SQLEXPRESS" (I think this is the default name for all installations of SQL express) so I changed the connection string to "server=(local)\SQLEXPRESS;database=cutechat;uid=userid;pwd=userpass".

I didn't get the error afterwards. In case your SQL server's name isn't SQLEXPRESS, you can find out the name by running the SQL Server Configuration Manager tool that is installed along with the server.
