    Connection to server lost

I have downloaded Cute Live Support version 4 (did this an hour ago), installed it, set the connection string and then went about trying to test it.

Note that both the web application and operator software are on the same pc. The computer runs Windows XP Pro with SP2 and has the .net framework 2 and 3 installed.

Whenever I try and initiate a chat (from the client/website side or the operater), the chat window on the operater console shows a connection lost message.

    What could the problem be?

I need to get the application working correcly as I have to skin it and then demo it to a client.

Below is  a screenshot of a alert that I get when exiting the operator app:

    Re: Connection to server lost

    Hi Adam

I downloaded and installed said buil of Live Support Operator. This did not solve the problem. I then installed Microsoft Primary Interoperability Assemblies 2005 (found the link in another thread of the Live Support forum) and hey presto! It works.

I have a few other questions, but they are not related to this post, so I'll start a new thread for those.

    Re: Connection to server lost

It seems I spoke too soon.

I got it to work once and then, when I tried it again, it went right back to square one.

When I invite a guest, the invite window on the client comes sliding down and, after clicking on it, the chat window on the client opens up stating that I am connected.

Swicthing windows back to the opperator the chat window states that the connection to the chat server has been lost. The client window still shows "connected".

Approaching things from the other side (after closing both web page and operator app and restarting the whole system), I click on the live chat button (image) on the client side to initiate a conversation. The operator picks up the request and displays the status bar popup. I then accept the request and once again get the message that the connection to the chat server has been lost. The client side popup window plays it's alert tone and shows conected.

    How now?

    Re: Connection to server lost

    Hi,

I think the operator console application get disconnected because the network connection is not OK.

Maybe it's HTTP1.1 keepAlive problem. or Maybe it's some firewall,anti-virus software cause that.

Please wait for a moment . We will upload a new build to let you do a test on the keepAlive issue.

    Regards , Terry .

Cool. I'll check back in a few hours, although I suspect that you guys are still sleeping as I'm typing this just like I'll be sleeping when you reply.
