For example you want to link to a subsection on the same webpage called "Poetry" the anchor name would look as follows:
<a name="poetry">poetry</a>
With the anchor name created, any hyperlink can be made to refer to that particular name. For example:
<a href="#poetry">Go to poetry</a>
This will refer to the anchor name ‘poetry’ on the same page as the hyperlink. T
o refer to an anchor name on a separate page (for example courses.htm) just put the anchor name after the name of the page, separated by a hash (#) sign as shown below.
<a href="courses.htm#poetry">Go to poetry on another page</a>
