    Licensing and editor extensibility questions

    A few quick questions about cuteeditor :
    1°) We would like to extend cuteeditor to handle links / images / documents through our own custom program. We have previously done this with another wysiwyg editor as we had source code. The Question is : does cutesoft editor allow you in an easy way to add buttons which have their own custom interface and return code to be inserted in the editor without a source code license ?

    2°) If its ok with the number one requirement (ie no extension problems) what license would we have to buy in order to :
    a. be able to access a site wite url www.abc.com
    b. access sites with url machinename.domainA.com and machinename.domainB.com

    Yes.

    It's easy to add your own functions to the CuteEditor with the help of CuteEditor extended functionalities.

    Please check the following example:

    You can go with the small business license or IP license.

    IP License:

    An IP license grants you use the control from all Web applications on a single production server.

    You can drop the controls into one production server's global assembly cache and use it from all Web applications on that server.

    You may also install and use the Software on an unlimited number of developer workstations (but not on a development server) for use in connection with the same single website host name when accessed by the http://localhost/Webapplication;

    Small Business License:

    A small business license allows use of the Software for all users at 10 sites within a single company.

    The license key will be generated based on your site domain names. If you will be using the components in an intranet environment, the license key will be generated based on server names.

    You may also install and use the Software on an unlimited number of developer workstations (but not on a development server) for use in connection with the same single website host name when accessed by the http://localhost/Webapplication;

    A big benefit of the small business license is you can add additional sites to your license file at any time if you don't have 10 sites right now.

    Hope it helps.

    Let me know if you have any further questions.

    Re: Licensing and editor extensibility questions

    Thank you for your answer on the first question.

    Concerning Licensing I still dont know what fits my specific needs though. Let me be a little clearer :

    We plan to integrate Cutesoft Editor in a CMS application. This app is then going to be deployed on quite a few servers :
    Our Intranet site, problably 2 server webfarm
    Our Internet site, probably 4 server or more webfarm
    Other miscelanious intranet sites, maybe 1 or 2 other servers.

    We have our different dev / integration / certification environments which add up to a few other servers.

    I have read http://cutesoft.net/How+to+Buy/Licensing+Info/default.aspx and I think anything under the developer license is not enough.

    Could you detail the difference between : Developer License / Developer Team License / Redistribution License / Enterprise License :

    In the dev / dev team license definitions what does : "use the product on one machine" mean ? Is the license linked to a dll ?
    Do the dev licenses allow us to install on as many servers as we want ?

    Re: All license types can do your job

    Yes, one further question : how is the developer licensed "linked" to a developer ?

    I think we will be buying the Enterprise license to make sure we have no further problems in the future.
