I'd like to know if there is a way to manual modify the queue list, adding and removing items, without passing through the control functions (so without using a browse button to select files and so on)

Actually I don't need to customize the way the items of the queue list are shown (that's what your document refers) but the content of the queue list itself, adding and removing items programmatically.
