Cross-browser AjaxUploader on SSL sites, causes error with FireFox & Chrome

Support: We are experiencing problems integrating the AjaxUploader in an SSL environment.  The upload control works just fine when using MSIE 7 or 8, but if you try to use Google Chrome or Mozilla FireFox you get strange errors.  Can you provide a best practice approach for using the AjaxUploader control in a VB.Net environment on an SSL web service?  I have found some references to using non-SSL sites to act as the upload control and I may end up doing that, but my license doesn't cover that.  I have a single domain license and a single IP license of the control.  I can provide an externally accessible test page via email, just send me an email.  I believe I have the very latest version of the AjaxUploader control, it shows AjaxUploader 3.0 20090708.  Does the control require direct web access to the file?  The path I am currently using is not available through the web.  Let me know,  -=R=-

Re: Cross-browser AjaxUploader on SSL sites, causes error with FireFox & Chrome

    Test files are 500kb - 2MB.

Here is an example of an error on Mozilla FireFox or Google Chrome:

You are probably hitting the file upload limit of IIS7.By default in IIS 7 requestFiltering  has the MaxAllowedContentLength property enabled. It specifies, in bytes, the maximum length of the content in a request. The default is 30MB.

There must be some other reason for the error, but it is not apparent other than an SSL issue or the control needs direct access to the uploaded file via the web.

Re: Cross-browser AjaxUploader on SSL sites, causes error with FireFox & Chrome

I have reviewed that URL previously.

    Our web.config has:
    <httpRuntime executionTimeout="45" maxRequestLength="2000000"/>

And I don't have an applicationHost.config in the machine.
We are running Windows Server 2003 R2.

The file being uploaded is less than 100K, so the issue is not likely the size of the file.
The test URL I provided works with about any size file in MSIE, but Firefox and Chrome do not.

I overlooked the most obvious issue, the test machine is running Windows 7.  There is an issue using the control on Windows 7 with Mozilla or Chrome, but I imagine it will be solved soon.

Re: Cross-browser AjaxUploader on SSL sites, causes error with FireFox & Chrome

There is still an issue with users on Windows 7 systems, running Mozilla FireFox or Google Chrome.  We have the latest build:
AjaxUploader 3.0 20090708.  The upload works just fine on Internet Explorer.  We are also running the DLL in an SSL encrypted site.  Please advise.  We get the same error:
You are probably hitting the file upload limit of IIS7.By default in IIS 7 requestFiltering  has the MaxAllowedContentLength property enabled. It specifies, in bytes, the maximum length of the content in a request. The default is 30MB.

    Any idea?

    Hi,

This issue is resolved in the current release.

Please download the control and try again.

Well, there seems to be a problem with the new version.  If you try the VB NoAjax version, the Simple Upload with Progress doesn't load the file prompt on either MSIE or Mozilla for me.  It just does nothing.  I am on Windows 7 RC 1.  Has this been reported already? I am unable to release the latest version on our site until this is corrected.

The issue is on the 'Simple Upload with Progress (Custom Validation)' example only.

Does anyone else have a problem with this format?
