Upload button not working

Hi,

We have your dotnet Gallery which has been working fine, just installed it on a IIS7 server and the upload button does not work. When you click on it nothing happens.

The new category does work however.

Any ideas what the problem might be?

How to control the order of the images

Images seem to be randomly displayed - is there any way to have the images shown in a particular order? I've already named my images with an ascending ascii sort, but that doesn't seem to do it.

Thumbnail Size

How can i change the thumbnail size in classic mode?

I found someone asking the same thing by searching the forum and found an answer asking to check the properties Gallery.MaxThumbWidth and Gallery.MaxThumbHeight. I am assuming this has changed because these properties are not available from what I can tell.

Any way to use Image Gallery as just a file uploader ?

I love the fact that Image Gallery will resize an image when it's uploaded. Is there any way to reconfigure the admin area so it acts just as a file uploader? ie, the user would not be able to create a new category or delete comments or images. All the user would be able to do is click a 'upload an image' button, find the image on their computer, and upload it.

The image would then be resized and stored on the server.

Any way to do this?

Hi!

There is a way to disabling the behaviour when clik on a tumbnail image? I want a gallery with the large view of the photo disabled.

Exist:

DotNetGallery.LayoutRenderMode.ThumbnailSlideShow

and:

DotNetGallery.LayoutRenderMode.SimpleGrid

I wish:

DotNetGallery.LayoutRenderMode.SlideShowNone

DotNetGallery.LayoutRenderMode.SinglePicture

Or similar....

Error on upload

I have another issue I need help with. I had uploaded a set of photos through the admin console to a directory....about 15 images. Now I try to add more and I get the error:

Not allow edit!

at DotNetGallery.GalleryBrowser.RequireEditPermission()

at DotNetGallery.GalleryBrowser.UploadFiles(String categoryid)

Any help appreciated.

How to style

I'm demoing the control and need to style the main gallery area for the potential customer. The area behind the full size pics I need black instead of gray. Also I need to make the border only 1px. We are using the SlideShow layout. I have tried adding css to both of these files with no effect:

gallery/layout/slideshow/style.css

gallery/gallery.css

Any help appreciated.

Unable to upload images

I am having a problem with the latest version of the ASP.Net Image Gallery...

The gallery is not allowing me to upload any files. When I click the Upload Files button, nothing happens.

Issue Changing Gallery Folder Multiple Times

I am having an issue when rendering the image gallery multiple times with different GalleryFolders. I have implemented the gallery inside an AJAX ModalPopupExtender on my master page. From another page, the user clicks a link to display a particular gallery. In the code behind on the master page I change the GalleryFolder property, and render the modal popup. This code works fine on my local machine for an unlimited number of times. However, when deployed on an IIS 7.0 server running .NET Runtime 4.0 the gallery stops working after the user clicks the 5th gallery link. It displays but is empty of any images. A few additional details:

1. The ModalPopupExtender works fine for an unlimited number of times when the Image Gallery is not included in the popup.

2. The ModelPopupExtender works fine for an unlimited number of times when the popup contains a YouTube video embedded as an iFrame

Based on this, I don't believe the Modal Popup to be an issue

I have implented the Image Gallery three different ways :

a) Directly inside a ModalPopupExtender panel as described above

b) As an iFrame inside the ModalPopupExtender, with a URL to another page that contains only the Image Gallery control

c) Using window.open() to open another page that contains only the ImageGallery control

The same behavior exists in all three implementations. The fact that it occurrs in options b and c really puzzles me, since it's a brand new page being loaded each time.

Finally, if the same Image Gallery is rendered with the same GalleryFolder it will work an unlimited number of times. The problem only occurrs if the gallery folder is changed. If I refresh the page, it starts working again but will again stop after the GalleryFolder is changed 4 times.

How to combine css and js files.

1)There are total 10 js files and 5 css files it calls when we use DotNetGallery control.How we can comabine into one js and css file.It makes 15 requests.Also how we can assign our desired path for the css and js file insted of the default path.

2) Is there any event available when file upload completes.Where we can call some functionality ones file upload is done.

3) Currently it shows 1 file(s) have been uploaded!.Can we customize this alert message.

4) How about Asp.net image gallery with MVC.

Need Help with License Not Found Error

I have a 10 domain license, and I have copied the license file to my application's bin directory, and published the web site, but I am getting this error. It works in Visual Studio debugger.

Displaying "folders" of images for a user to view and choose from.

Using ASP.NET Image Gallery, I want to be able to allow users to see the various folders of images I have created and uploaded images to and display the images in JUST the chosen folder.

I know I can use "Explorer Layout" to do that but it looks awful. I need something like this Vertogo's Silverlight Image Gallery.

Is there a way of showing folders that actually looks nice?

Hiding File Info for DotNetGallery

Hey guys,

I just embedded DotNetGallery into an ASP.NET content page and I have to say it's a very nice control for the price. Unfortunately however there is one thing I want to do with it that I can't seem to figure out. My client doesn't want the file information to show up on the gallery. When I mouse over a thumbnail or a certain part of the photo it pops up. How can I disabled the file information on the entire gallery so that these are not visible regardless of what the user does?

I'm guessing it's in one of the javascript files somewhere but I haven't been able to located it.

Here's the code in my ASPX page.

Customizing cutesoft gallery does not work

hello guys,

I just installed and got cutesoft gallery up and running.

However the name of the file appears of the bottom.

dotnetgallery:gallerybrowser AllowPostComment="false" AllowShowComment="false" runat="server" GalleryFolder="~/images/fashion" id="GalleryBrowser2" Width="780" Height="400" />

And I tried to

1. Disallow comments and showing of comments as seen above, but it still shows comments.

2. I want to add custom text below every picture.

3. I want to randomize mutliple pictures from folders to appear in the home page, is this possible

4. I want the category ( or folder name ) of the root gallery to appear below.

How can I achieve this

I can get cutesoft .net gallery to run locally, but when i copy it to my webserver. I get the error below.

An ASP.NET setting has been detected that does not apply in Integrated managed pipeline mode.

•Migrate the configuration to the system.webServer/modules section. You can do so manually or by using AppCmd from the command line - for example, %SystemRoot%\system32\inetsrv\appcmd migrate config "Default Web Site/". Using AppCmd to migrate your application will enable it to work in Integrated mode, and continue to work in Classic mode and on previous versions of IIS.

•If you are certain that it is OK to ignore this error, it can be disabled by setting system.webServer/validation@validateIntegratedModeConfiguration to false.

•Alternatively, switch the application to a Classic mode application pool - for example, %SystemRoot%\system32\inetsrv\appcmd set app "Default Web Site/" /applicationPool:"Classic .NET AppPool". Only do this if you are unable to migrate your application.

(Set "Default Web Site" and "Classic .NET AppPool" to your application path and application pool name)

If however I change the application pool from Integrated to classic, It says asp.net is not installed :'(

Hello,

I have tried installing DotNetGallery on my asp.net 4.0 webapplication (iis 7.5) but I get "http error1 :500:Internal Server Error" when trying to upload a new image or posting a comment or editing a photo.

I have to mention that everything goes fine when I am using the Visual Studio Development Server, but when switching to iis I am getting that error.

The NETWORK SERVICE and IIS_IUSRS users have full control over the images folder.

I really like the control and I would be excited to use it, so any help would be highly appreciated.

The directory Fotogallery as full permission on it.

Captions with each photo

I'm very impressed with DotNetGallery. One of the features mentioned that prompted me to download the trial version was the mention of captions with each photo. I'm not looking to display viewer comments. I'd like to use DotNetGallery for display of family photo albums, or progress pictures with my hobbies, and so I had hoped to be able to display a sentence or short paragraph with each photo.

I have found a comment field in the .config file created for each photo, but otherwise I've not found where to enable the display of a comment.

.jpg.config file?

I was impressed with the online demo of DotNetGallery and decided to try it out and see what it would take to incorporate it into my site. I've created a simple C# project in VS2008 with a single page for viewing a minimal album. When I move it to my hosting provider, I get an error I do not understand (shown below).

The path for the image is correct, but no 'Mt_rushmore_07_27_2005.jpg.config' file exists. Am I missing a config?

Is it possible (or will it be) to pass to the gallery a list of paths of images instead of a directory?

If it's necessary, a list with full-size images and one with thumbnails will be fine.

I need it to display a result set of a search.
