No, it does not work with default configurations as well.

i removed the ConfigurationPath property from the definition of the editor and added AutoConfigure="Default"

The page and VS would hang and I had to shut it down. I changed back to previous version of cute editor and everything is working as it used to..including the unwanted selected="true"..so basically back to square one!
