While it is possible to hide all of the icons at the top of the thumbnail view, the element containing the icons is still taking up real estate on the page.  It does not seem possible to hide/remove the entire element at the top of the control so that this space can be removed.  Basically even if the icons are hidden, the space on the page remains and in effect creates a large top margin.

 

If the element (<TR> or <TD> or ??) containing these hidden icons were to named with an ID, perhaps it would be possible to set the property of the entire element to not be visible.

Are there any work arounds to this issue?
