    Adam:

If you are a popular user and many people want to add you into their buddy list, so you will receive many similar requests unless you hide your username. We are not sure what we can do about this issue.  MSN messenger and Yahoo messenger works the same way.

    Hi Adam,

The thing is that with Cute IM, the user who is being added to another user's contact list does not get a *request to be added to contact* message.

With MSN messenger the "added user" gets a *request* message and then he / she chooses to accept that request to be added. Upon accepting that request the *added user* then shows up on both of their list. Because the "new contact" is now a shared entity - the requester and acceptee.

This therefore reduces the bombarding of messages from many *unknown / unwanted* users.

The search option here with the Cute IM allows a user to find other users and then select them for their contact list. Based on that slelection the user can then send the *added user* a new message. The *added user* will then receive that message even if he / she wants to or not, because he / she is now part of that persons contact list.

I think that the added user should have the ability to accept or deny, being added to someone's contact list before that person can send him / her a message.

Our website has thousands of users and without a *request to be added to contact* message this would become an annoyance to them.
