    error? Dialog box in Safari

I thought I post a separate thread for something I posted earlier in another thread.  Basically in Safari (Windows & Mac) when ever you do a manual refresh of the page using (Command + R) the pages loads up with an (error?) dialog box to which none of the cuteEditor instance would work again until you close the browser and restart.   I tried this on  your demo site and it doesn't appears to be happening but I was able to reproduce this error in another testing page: http://richtextbox.com/test/display-none.aspx

I'm using the latest build of CuteEditor for asp.net 6.6, please let me know how I can fix this issue as majority of my users use Safari on Macs.

    Thanks

Re: error? Dialog box in Safari

I am having this issue still as well and have some VERY unhappy clients. It is very frustrating to spend a good amount of money on this product and then get daily complaints from our users. When is version 7 coming out?? It better be VERY soon!!!!

Is there any guarantee this is going to be fixed if you cannot even reproduce the issue. I cannot wait for 1 to 2 months for an update that may not even fix the issue....very frustrated customer...

Re: error? Dialog box in Safari

Yes. We will fix it in 7.0.  I am sorry for the inconvenience.  However this issue is caused by browser's designMode doesn't work correctly under display:none.  It needs to redesign the editor to fix this issue.

    Hi Adam,

I tried this code snippet and I still get the "error?" dialog box in Safari on manual refresh.
Any idea when version 7 will be released?

    Thanks

Will we be notified when this release is ready for use. I just had another new client sign-up for our software and complain about this message. This looks terrible for my company...!!!???

Apparently Adam has left the building :) I would love an update and official date of the release if possible. My clients are not happy about constantly receiving this error message.

Re: error? Dialog box in Safari

    Challand,

    I know this issue well.
All non-IE browsers will have problems when you dynamically show the editor in the page.
It’s a common issue that happens to all editors. You can search this topic: designMode doesn't work for display:none iframe
The best method is loading the editor first in the page then hide it.
Another work-around is detecting non-IE browsers and adding the loading script in the page:
    <script src="http://cutesoft.net/CuteSoft_Client/CuteEditor/Load.ashx?type=scripts&amp;file=Gecko_Loader">
In the new version of editor, we implement a very new method to achieve wysiwyg editing.
This issue is resolved. But due to we have to rewrite all code in this new version and add many new features, there are still some works not finished.

Here is the screenshot of 8.0.

We can publish a testing version in support forums soon.
    Hope this information helps.

Re: error? Dialog box in Safari

    Hi jackdhp,

You can catch the "PostBackCommand" event of the editor, like

    1. <%@ Page Language="VB" %>
    2.
    3. <%@ Register TagPrefix="CE" Namespace="CuteEditor" Assembly="CuteEditor" %>
    4. <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    5.
    6. <script runat="server">
    7.
    8.     Protected Sub editor1_PostBackCommand(ByVal sender As ObjectByVal e As System.Web.UI.WebControls.CommandEventArgs)
    9.         label1.Text = editor1.Text
    10.     End Sub
    11. </script>
    12.
    13. <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
    14. <head runat="server">
    15.     <title>example</title>
    16. </head>
    17. <body>
    18.     <form id="form1" runat="server">
    19.         <div>
    20.             <CE:Editor ID="editor1" runat="server" OnPostBackCommand="editor1_PostBackCommand">
    21.             </CE:Editor>
    22.             <br />
    23.             <asp:Label ID="label1" runat="server"></asp:Label>
    24.         </div>
    25.     </form>
    26. </body>
    27. </html>
