    Serious Problem with Firefox

With the latest version of Firefox, and all Add-ons disabled, I'm seeing very strange behavior when pasting text into the CE and then making edits thereafter. Version of CE is 6.4.

In the video below, I paste text into the demo. The text has been pasted from an Outlook Express email message into Notepad and then copied from Notepad into the CE so that junk HTML is stripped off before pasting.

Note how once I've pasted the text into CE, when I try to insert newlines via the Enter key, I get very strange results.

On another important note, I was not able to insert the above video into this forum post under Firefox, so I abandoned my attempts and switched to IE. Firefox version is Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.11) Gecko/2009060215 Firefox/3.0.11 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729), with no add-ons enabled.

Assuming these issues are truly CE issues and not issue with my browser, when these issues are fixed, I would very much appreciate knowing when a fixed version of CE is available in the download area.

    Thanks and Regards,
    Kazzlo

    Hi Ken,

If you click the video's play button in the original post and then click on the video while it's playing, the video can be viewed in full screen mode. At least this works for me. Are you able to do the same? This is 100% repeatable on your demo page under Firefox.

    Regards,
    Bill

    Re: Serious Problem with Firefox

i'm seeing the same problems with firefox 2 and 3, safari and chrome. paste or even type text into the editor, then go back to the middle of a para and hit return. all the following html gets messed up. this is universal across both my own implementation of cuteeditor 6.4 asp.net version, and the demo version on cutesoft site.

the problem doesn't occur when using IE.

i've tried setting the para tag (editor.breakelement) to P and this doesn't help. it looks like the closing and opening tags for new para's get put in the wrong place, and other tags get stripped out. haven't examined it in detail yet.

serious issue, tho i'm at a loss to understand why no one else has spotted it yet. i downloaded the trial version 6.4 about two days ago - perhaps a recent update?

    Re: Serious Problem with Firefox

hmm - sorry, should have tried this earlier. tried setting breakelement to Br and this relieves the issue in firefox and safari. definately a bug tho.

    Re: Serious Problem with Firefox

    Hi Guys,

As far as I know, this is one of your most serious bugs and I still see the issue in the most recent version of CE with all versions of Firefox that I've tried.. Do you intend to fix this bug? It would be great if you could fix it for V6.5.

    Thanks,
    Kazzlo

    Re: Serious Problem with Firefox

P.S. I've confirmed this fix on the CuteSoft DEMO page. Is the DEMO now at a version of V6.5?

    Thanks again,
    Kazzlo

    Re: Serious Problem with Firefox

    Hi Guys,

This problem seems to have resurfaced with the latest build.

Example: type a paragraph of text on the demo page, then click somewhere in the middle of the just-entered text and hit enter a couple of times to insert a paragraph break. Upon doing so, the text and associated HTML becomes jumbled. Just like before..

Seen on Firefox, but presumably this issue also exists on other non-IE browsers like oor_wullie reported previously.

    Regards,
    Kazzlo
