insert unordered list

I mask a text and klick to insert unordered list, but the tags are on wrong place.

Can you explain the problem in details?

Please note that unordered list is block level element.

Block-level elements typically contain inline elements and other block-level elements. When you click the unordered list buton, it will apply to the whole block instead of the text you selected.
