Hi,

I am trying to integrate CuteChat with my web application. I have implemented the SqlDataProvider and IUserIdentityProvider classes with very simple stubs for the minute. I also get this problem with the Sample application.

When the user wishes to enter the chat side of things I am simply sending them into a single room. When they enter this room, a message box pops up:

Rane Server Error:
System.ArgumentNullException: Array cannot be null
Parameter name: bytes

and then the rest of the stack trace...

When I hit OK on the message box, the chat window loads up, but I get a message at the top of the chat frame:

"@ http://localhost/CuteChatSample/CuteChat/ChatRoom.aspx?RoomId=1 # 678 'Service' is null or not an object"

I also get a Javascript error: Line 220 Char 3 Error: 'ChatRoomRaneService' is undefined

What have I done wrong?

I'm using version 1.1. Unfortunately the project isn't online at the moment but might be in the next day or two. Any suggestions meanwhile would be gratefully received. What does this error mean?

All I've done is implement the SqlDataProvider and IUserIdentityAdapter. On the database side of things I have created the standard Sample database and directed the chat application to that in the web.config.

Is there something else that I need to do?

As I said in my original email, I get this problem with the sample installation as well as my own applications, so it is not a problem with something specific to my code, and you can see the sample app yourself. Why would this error appear - what is RANE? I would get that there is a configuration issue with the web server or something like that, can you tell me any more about it?

OK. Where do I download the registered version? My company have purchased the application from you and given me the license and msi etc. - can I just download the demo version and use my license or do I need to download it from somewhere else?

Also - we just bought CuteChat a week or so ago, and got v1.1 - i see that version 2 is out now, is there a free upgrade to that orare we stuck with v1.1?
