Insert image dialog box loses bottom controls

When I open the Insert Image dialog and navigate around, the bottom panel showing the controls disappear.

I have an website I use for testing that you can see this on.  It's http://bestwebpools.com.  Simply click on the initial link and then click on the Insert Image button, then navigate around and the controls disappear.

I am running this in IE7.

    Thanks,
    David Diamond

    David,

Have you modified the insertimage.aspx file?

If not, can you create a simple aspx which can reproduce this issue and send it to support@cutesoft.net?

Re: Insert image dialog box loses bottom controls

    Adam,

I have not made any modifications to any CuteEditor files.  I have submitted a ticket to support, with the url of a simple site you can use to observe this behavior, which is also listed above in my initial post.

    Thanks,
    David

Re: Insert image dialog box loses bottom controls

    Hi Adam,

Any progress on looking into this?  While the website you can see this on is not used, I am waiting for a resolution to this to move it into a production website, so it is a production issue.

    Thanks again,
    David

    UseStandardDialog Property

    David,

Can you set the following property to true then try again?

    Editor.UseStandardDialog Property

If you want to use standard popup windows for all dialogs, set this property to true.

    Adam,

This is currently set true.  I had tried both not setting it and setting it true and is has exhibited the same behavior in both cases.

    David,

We are investigating this issue. I think this issue is caused by you open editor inside a modal dialog.

Re: Insert image dialog box loses bottom controls

    Adam,

I don't believe I'm opening it inside a modal dialog.  It's inside a table cell, and the table is inside a panel, all within a master page.

I think you've gotten another issue just posted about opening the editor inside a modal dialog confused with my issue.

    Adam,
I changed it to false and on the first folder click it loses the bottom panel.

    Adam,

The only change I made was to the UseStandardDialog property, but it still doesn't work for me.  If I click on the Holidays folder, the dialog bottom disappears.

Re: Insert image dialog box loses bottom controls

    Hi Adam,

I have stripped out almost all the code to create a very simple project that displays the problem, but before I send it to you I wanted to let you know what I think is causing it.

I have a Controls.skin file with the following code:

    <asp:Table runat="server"

    HorizontalAlign=Center
    />

If I remove the HorizontalAlign=Center line, the dialog works fine.  If I leave the line in, the bottom dialog immediately disappears when I click on a folder.

Hopefully this enough to go on to reproduce the problem at your end.  But, I will also be emailing you the project in case you need that as well.

    Thanks,
    David

Re: Insert image dialog box loses bottom controls

    David,

    I can't reproduce your problem by using HorizontalAlign=Center ,

I think if you using ASP.NET 2.0 THEME,

Not only the .skin file, but also the css files in the THEME folder, can affect the editor dialogs.

So I think you can try this way ,  specify another theme in the /CuteSoft_Client/CuteEditor/web.config and try again,

    Regards,
    Terry

Re: Insert image dialog box loses bottom controls

    Terry,

I was able to remove the HorizontalAlign=Center line from the .skin file, and that resolved the problem.

I also tried putting it back and changing the CuteEditor web.config file, as you suggested, and that worked as well.

Do you have any knowledge base article on what types of .skin or .css settings will cause actual dialog problems?  I'm not concerned with appearance but rather actual loss of functionality as in this case.

    Thanks,
    David

    David,

If you can post the css files used for that theme, we can point out the problem easily.
