Installation problems

I've just installed the latest release of CuteEditor for ASP. Bold and underline work fine, colors and highlighting are fine as well.

But the Find function, Image gallery, and insert image features do not. They all crash with a "page cannot be displayed - internal server error - 500 message.

You can see this at:

All of the standard pages are in the Cutesoft folder, and the software is in /CuteEditor_Files

What am I missing here- I haven't even configured anything yet, just trying to run the virgin product!

Please follow the steps below:

1.	Open the Internet Services Manager in the Microsoft Management Console (MMC).
2.	Right-click on your Default Web Site and select Properties.
3.	Click the Home Directory tab.
4.	Click the Configuration button.
5.	Click the App Options tab.
6.	Click to select the Enable Parent Paths checkbox.
7.	Click the OK button until you return to the MMC.

Thanks! That fixed it.

I have run into two additional problems.

1) When I click on the Find icon, everything works as expected. However, ReplaceAll responds with a jscript dialog box.

This might be a debug-related message that has not been removed from the code or something. I don't think it belongs in the production product. Can you investigate, please?

2) I'm running the CuteEditor in a secured frame page. That is:

https://www.prospectstar.org/testframe.htm

Or the native page:

https://www.prospectstar.org/cutesoft/localization.asp

In any case, the Cancel button of the Find function gives me a browser prompt about redisplaying secure and non-secure items. Since all the icons are under ProspectStar.org, they are inherently secure. Why would this message be generated?

If I run without https:, it all works well, but the application is designed to run https:

What's going on with this anomaly?

1. Thanks for pointing it out. We've resolved the problem. Please download the control again.

2. Please open CuteSoft_Client\CuteEditor\Configuration\Shared\Common.config and remove all the links to CuteSoft.net.

That worked. Thanks.

Next item. I am trying to create a custom config template, and it doesn't work. If I name it something new and refer to it, the message comes back that the menu can't be loaded. However, if I use one of the installed config names and edit that file, that can be customized.

Shouldn't we be able to create a template with a name of our own choosing to configure as needed?

Still having trouble with the Find dialog box and https:

I deleted all the references to cutesoft.net images in common.config, but it still displays the warning.

What am I missing?

Are you able to reproduce the find dialog issue in the following example?

Can you download the control again and create a separate application for testing?

I downloaded CuteEditor_asp**********.zip again.

I installed it all into a subfolder of ProspectStar

I edited the common.config file in Shared to remove all image references to cutesoft.

The URL https://www.prospectstar.org/cutesoft/default.asp still fails under IE after I click the Cancel button, warning me about secured and unsecured images.

It works with http but not https. Any ideas?

Adam,

I'm still stymied. It's been a week since my last post to this thread and you (or anyone else) has not responded to that last post to help me solve my problem.

HTTPS is not working under IE6, giving me warnings about secure and unsecure graphics.

Any ideas?
