Absolute vs. Relative URLs Not Working

Hi Adam,

I'm not able to get absolute URLs when inserting images.

I'm using:

<ce:editor id="txtHtmlEditor" runat="server" BreakElement="P"
        ConfigurationPath="~/assets/CuteEditor/Configuration/NewslettersMenuMinimal.config"
        Height="400px" SecurityPolicyFile="NewslettersC10.config" Width="590px"
        style="margin-top:3px" RemoveServerNamesFromUrl="False" UseFontTags="True"
        UseRelativeLinks="False">
        <framestyle backcolor="White" bordercolor="#DDDDDD" borderstyle="Solid" borderwidth="1px"
            cssclass="CuteEditorFrame" height="100%" width="100%"></framestyle>

</ce:editor>

How can I have editor place absolute URLs automatically when inserting images?

Chris,

Please set the Editor.URLType Property to Absolute.

Editor.URLType Property

Specify whether the URL should be converted to a site root relative path (/html/images/image1.gif) or an absolute path (http://www.mysite.com/images/image1.gif).

URLType Enumeration

Specify whether the URL should be converted to a site root relative path (/html/images/image1.gif) or an absolute path (http://www.mysite.com/images/image1.gif).

Members

Member Name	Description
Default	The URL is not converted.
SiteRelative	The URL is converted into a site root relative path. A site root relative path describes the location of the destination file by describing the route the browser must take from the Web site's root folder (top level in the folder structure). For example, a site root-relative path to an image may appear as: /html/images/image1.gif
Absolute	The URL is converted into an absolute path. An absolute path describes the physical location of a file on a machine or the exact location of a file on the Internet. An absolute path on your hard drive might appear as: An absolute path might appear as: http://www.mysite.com/images/image1.gif

Thanks for your fast response!

I'm trying to do just that but not sure where to add this.

I've added:

Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load
CuteEditor.URLType.Absolute = True

End Sub

But still having trouble. Is there another place to add this? The demo doesn't show how.

I figured it out. I'm doing this now and it's working perfectly:

Ok. If you want to set it in the code, it should be:

txtHtmlEditor.URLType = URLType.Absolute

Hi Adam,

One quick question: How can I do this same thing for documents? In other words, it works for inserting images, but inserting documents still only shows /root/directory/file.pdf and not http://www.example.com/root/directory/file.pdf

This issue is fixed in version 6.1 which will be released soon.
