    Re: A visual demonstration of the Anchor bug 6.0

    1. fixes content after the last anchor not being blown away
    2. does not fix overwrite of last anchor name over others in page
    ISSUE 1
    - create two anchors named uniquely
    - switch to HTML view
    >> both anchors now have same name = to last anchor name in page

    ISSUE 2 (CRITICAL!!)
    - create two anchors named uniquely
    - submit
    >> both anchors now have same name = to last anchor name in page

    ISSUE 3 (lesser)
    - anchor utility in link tool rarely shows the anchors in the page and only after submission of content or switch to html view

    >> both anchors now have same name = to last anchor name in page

    Back open mac FF - submitting Anchors works BUT then render HTML unreadable to the editor

    In client demo the client was on a new mac using firefox and stepped through making anchors, when they hit submit the page looks fine but when they open back up the content in the editor the HTML is wacked such that half the content does not appear. Below are samples of the html started with folowed by what appears in teh editor after submit

    -------- CLIENT OPENS THIS as is IN WYSIWYG mode and uses anchor tool to add a new anchor to Letter to the Editor!--->>when they submit >> SEE NEXT SECTION FOR RESULTANT HTML------

    Re: Back open mac FF - submitting Anchors works BUT then render HTML unreadable to the editor

  •  05-25-2007, 10:36 AM 30118 in reply to 30103

    Mac FF rendering with anchors

    Please paste the following HTML (identified as the resultant in my last post) into your sample in HTML view using firefox on the mac  - switch to WYSIWYG - it does not render properly - works in browser but not in cutesoft editor, in this case it is not showing everything that had an anchor in front of it except what we entered lat (do the same on PC IE or FF and it does show)

    It may not be clean HTML but it is what the editor produces from the html entered with anchors by the client
    Clients stack bolds and spans , erroneously maybe but it's what they do - the content should still render though in mac as itdoes in windows browsers - I dont care about safari right now but will

    A element issue

    You can download this 25mb .mov file right click and save then view

    the steps are for firefox on the mac

    this simulates the alteration of html that may occur by editor on submission depending on how the user enters text and other tags

    -------

    create two paragraphs in editor

    put an anchor at the begining of each paragraph

    open into html view

    identify first anchor <a id="" name=""></a> [editor places anchor open and close components of a element on one line, great]

    place cursor between <a id="" name=""> and </a> componenets of the first a element (so right before the first  </a> place your cursor)

    press keyboard return button once

    now you have first anchor looking like this

    <a id="" name="">
    </a>

    and second anchor looking like this

    <a id="" name=""></a>

    return to normal view

    >> missing first paragraph

    It's now just a Fire Fox mac issue - you are so close - please finish this issue off

    Pulling my hair out for my mac users
    Firefox just doesn't like the cutesoft editor when it comes to anchors
    Below is repro
    Here is another issue - the editor places the anchor icon as a background style image in my html in mac firefox when I submit?????????????????? as well as the <a> and close </a> being spread to different lines which kills the display of ALL content in the editor. Easily reprod on you demo page
