Failing required field validator when text is typed in

I am having issues using the editor with a .NET RequiredFieldValidator control. When I type anything into the editor, I always get at least one saying the field is required.

Steps to reproduce
1) Go to http://cutesoft.net/example/Validator.aspx

2) Type anything into the text box

3) Click submit, notiice message that says The body field is required!

4) Click submit again, page now shows the text you typed in.

This bug has been fixed in the latest version 5.0.

Is this also fixed for client side validation? It seems to only be working on server side validation for me.

Can someone please investigate the issue and get back to me. I am not sure if it is just me with the client side validation not working. (EnableClientScript="True" on the RequiredFieldValidator)

Please download the version 5.1 from

In the above example, the client script is enabled.

<asp:RequiredFieldValidator EnableClientScript="true" id="RequiredFieldValidator1" runat="server" ErrorMessage="RequiredFieldValidator" ControlToValidate="Editor1" Text="<h3>The body field is required!</h3>"></asp:RequiredFieldValidator>

Thank you very much Adam, I will try out the new version . It appears the demo link you provided above posts back to the server and refreshes the page while using Internet Explorer?

I type anything into the editor, I still get at least one saying the field is required. I have to click submit button twice... I try it on version 5.2, IE6..
