HTTPS - How to get rid of warning/message caused by Cute Editor

Every time I open an aspx page, I get the message:

This page contains both secure and nonsecure item. Do you want to display the nonsecure items?

I have removed all sample code pointing to CuteSoft site and other HTTP references. But nothing helps. Other pages wihtout Cute Editor works fine.

Is there another solution ?

1. Open the following file: CuteSoft_Client/CuteEditor/Configuration/Shared/Common.config

2. Remove all the example code which points to CuteSoft site. For example, remove this: <html><![CDATA[<img border=0 align='absMiddle' src='http://cutesoft.net/data/signature.gif' /> CuteSoft]]></html>

I have removed all example code as mentioned above. There must be something else that cuases the problem

Strange...Which version of CuteEditor are you using?

Can you download the version 5.1 and try again?

We have the same problem, using version 6 of the .NET cutesoft control, and have gone through the above steps.

We still get a secure/non secure message appear on our HTTPS site.

Any resolution for this in 6?

Brian,

This solution also works for version 6.0. You have to remove all links pointing to outside site.

Hi Adam,

Thanks, but we've gone through the config files looking for anything that may point to an outside site, anything starting with HTTP, and as far as we can tell it's all been stripped out. I've gone through the asp page that the cute control sits on but all of those links are relative and are happily within the HTTPS environment.

When the prompt comes up and we say No, don't allow mixed security, only the Cute Control fails to render, sometimes its the central box only (so the menu items appear), sometimes its the entire box.

Has there been any resolution on this? I'm having the same problem. I striped out all http:// from Common.Config

Yes, this issue is resolved in version 6.x.

Hello,

I have the same problem and i have purchased the version 6.

The problem occurs when the client loads this URL :

http://<MYDOMAIN>/CuteSoft_Client/CuteEditor/Load.ashx?type=style&file=SyntaxHighlighter.css

This URL is loaded in HTTP while all others are loaded in HTTPS in HTTPS contxt.

Even if i click OK on dialog box, the problem is not solved because my environment serves only the HTTPS requests. Result i have a beautifull 502

I think the problem comes from the file : Template.aspx. In this file I retrieve the pattern : <Load.ashx?type=style&file=SyntaxHighlighter.css>

I think we have some mistake in the operations on referrer.

I just purchased v6 for ASP and am having the same problem. I removed all the references referred to in this thread and am still having the same issue. Is there a fix for ASP v6?

Hi,

I can't reproduce this problem.

Here is two possible reason :

1 - the ResolveUrl("Load.ashx?type=style&file=SyntaxHighlighter.css") return http://yourdomain/....

2 - the <base> show http://yourdomain/... , which let the <link> based on the http://

So please test removing the <base> too

Or you can try this :

Now we can't reproduce it and can't test it. We will fix it when we get conclusion.

The reason for this warning is because ResolveUrl("Load.ashx?type=style&file=SyntaxHighlighter.css") will always resolve to http. If your site is running in https it will bring up the warning (to get the warning make sure your IE browser has "Display mixed content" setting disabled).

To get more info on why this issue is happening in general (not specific to CuteEditor) see

CuteEditor team - please fix this bug: you would need to update this line to support resolving to HTTPS or come up with another solution to load this css file. The reason why you can't reproduce this is probably because you don't have HTTPS setup locally.
