Multiselect, modal dialog and Firefox not working

If you have AjaxUploader in a modal dialog the multiselect is not working. It works perfect in Google Chrome, Safari and IE.

Is this a known problem? If the dialog is not modal, then FF is working. Now I use a "dirty" work around in page load:

detectFireFox = LCase(Left(Request.Browser.Type, 7))
If detectFireFox = "firefox" Then
DialogFileUpload.Modal = False
End If

Is there at a better way to solve this?

Hi,

I think you are using another uploader product.

Our product do not have '.Modal' property.

Hi!

I have the AjaxUploader in a modal dialog. It works fine with Firefox if the dialog is not modal.

Hi,

I don't think firefox/chrome support window.showModalDialog

What do you mean the Modal dialog ?

Are you using some component to show the Modal dialog ?

Maybe there's something conflicted

I'm using a component from Component Art, but I've tried other modal dialog components with the same result.

With Firefox it's not working to select multiple files. IE, Google Chrome and Safri is working just fine. Opera is also working, except the problem with the browse button.

If I set the Uploadtype to flash it works "sometimes".

It's not a big problem, it's only a cosmetic issue to have the AjaxUploader in a modal dialog.

Just wondering if someone has stumbled on the same problem.

Otherwise the AjaxUploader is working perfect. :)

We also implemented our own modal dialog.

I tried with the modal popup extender in Ajax toolkit also with the same result. The mulitselect didn't work in FF.

As I mention before, it's not a big deal. But if you release the modal dialog as a separate product, I will be the first one to use it :)

Did this get solved?

We have the excact same problem - just with a "popup" window created with Telerik.

Works in any other browser than Firefox.

Firebug reports this:

ActiveXObject is not defined

Hi,

Can you try this in the dialog code ?

alert(window.XMLHttpRequest);

alert(window.ActiveXObject);

</script>

if you get "ActiveXObject is not defined" , that means XMLHttpRequest is not available.

And in the uploader , there's one line check the window.ActiveXObject

Maybe your dialog have js library simulating the ActiveXObject function

What's the firefox version?

XMLHttpRequest returns an object but ActiveXObject does not.

The same happens when I run the page directly in the browser, so there is no difference. The popup content is displayed in an IFrame.

I'm using Firefox 3.6.3.
