    Performance issues

    Our production environment has about 600 visitors browsing the site at one time. LiveSupport monitor and the support image button scripts are present on each page. We have 11 operators logged in to Live Support Operator client.

    What we are experiencing is huge increase in CPU usage by the w3wp process on the server hosting the Live Support website/service - it is going up to 90% (server has Dual 3.60 GHz Intel Xeon (Hyper-Threaded) CPU's).

    We froze the update of visitors in client piece by checking off the Freeze checkmark, but that did not seem to help much.

    Is there something we're missing?

    Also, what are the server requirements for hosting the LiveSupport website/service (CPU, RAM)?

    Thank you.

    Kate,

    Can you remove the visitor monitor tag and try again?

    We are investigating this issue and will get back to you as soon as possible.

    Re: Performance issues

    Would that alter the ability to see if an operator is online and request a chat?

    Re: Performance issues

    You will lost the inviting visitors to chat feature.

    I just want to know the result to make further investigation.

    Re: Performance issues

    We won't be able to remove it for at least a week. Could we please have requirements for the server in the meantime?

    Thank you.

    Re: Performance issues

    Is there any update on this?  I have a client experiencing the same issue.

    They have a very small installation, but periodically see processor utilization get pegged at 100%.  I've narrowed it down to specific times, and there's a recurring pattern in the IIS log's pointing to LiveSupport:

    cs_method                                                                                                            cs-uri-stem

    /CuteSoft_Client/CuteChat/Support-Visitor-monitor-crossdomain.js.aspx
    _temp=1239932785147&Type=VISIT&CCCustomerId=afc33d00-7496-4254-5250-615e356acb08&Referrer=http%3A//imleagues.com/Members/Log.html
    /CuteSoft_Client/CuteChat/Support-Visitor-monitor-crossdomain.js.aspx
    _temp=1239954375491&Type=VISIT&CCCustomerId=6906fc00-7300-4ef1-0a37-05471d70cb08&Referrer=
    /CuteSoft_Client/CuteChat/Support-Visitor-monitor-crossdomain.js.aspx
    _temp=1239954395796&Type=VISIT&CCCustomerId=fe113c00-dee8-482b-241e-851f416acb08&Referrer=

    This pattern repeates for 3 different source browsers (based on IP address).  It seems to coincide with one of the operators logging in.  They donot see any error.

     Any advice?
