Purchasing/integration chat + messenger questions

Hi,

We're trialling the CuteChat on a site. We've downloaded and are integrating the Chat into the site now, but we've noticed that we also get Messenger with the download, which has confused us a little.

When we purchase CuteChat do we also get Messenger in with it? My understanding from the site was that we have to purchase them both seperately. This is fine - it's just that we need to know now so we can make sure Messenger isn't in the trial (don't want to get our users' hopes up ;))

Second question - how do we integrate Chat into an existing membership database? We've looked through the documentation but it isn't clear on how to do this.

M4G,

Chat and messenger shares the same client files and DLL. If you want to user Chat only, you can just remove the messenger link.

Hi Adam,

Thanks for the reply, but I'm afraid it's not helped as we've been referring to those documents all day.

We've tried to explain to your tech support person that we need the session ID variables or the class file for making an auto login for admin/members. The site doesn't use CS or other pre-built system, it's a custom site, so the code examples aren't much use.

We've got the software working, and we have integrated the CuteChat DB with our own DB, but we're not able to code the link between the two because we do not have that info.

Paul,

In the integration guide, We just use some CS integration code as examples.

Cute Chat just need the infomation of site membership. For example, you can pass the current username to Cute Chat . You can get this user name from sessions, active directory, cookie .....
