I have figred out how to get rid of the html and preview abilities:

 

    editor.ShowHtmlMode = false
    editor.ShowPreviewMode = false

How do I get rid of the normal ability?  Yes, normal is default and clicking it does nothing - this is the exact reason I want to get rid of it.

No thats not all it does (we have been over this in another post) it removed the + and - abilities also - this is not what I asked.

I do not want to remove the bottom bar. I want to keep the + and - options for increasing and decreasing the size of the editor.  Removing the bottom bar removes these options

 

My original question remains - how can I do this?????????

I am sorry. You can't remove the Design tab only.

 

We will add this option in the next version.

yes I think this would be useful.  As I said, if you click something and nothing happens it looks like the button doesnt work.  Us as developers know the 'Normal' button is the default view and nothing should happen, end users dont.
