I am looking for a chat app that can handle a very heavy load. Can anyone give me any feedback about how many concurrent users they have successfully experienced, or even better, if the app has ever failed do to extreme load.

 

I realize this is somewhat hardware related, but the code plays a role too :)

For an Intel P4 2.4 G server, the concurrent users per room should be under 200.

 

If you have more than 200 concurrent users, make sure you put the users in different rooms. In the room configuration settings, there is an option "Max online users" which allows you set Max online user per room.

 

Hope it can give you some ideas.
